Director's and Children's Services
Report (See attached)
Old Business:
The electrical work (updating some wiring and
service panel) is still not fully completed.
The major work has been done but there are a few minor jobs to finish.
Old & New Business:
NYSEG completed an energy
audit. To update all the lights in the
building to more efficient lighting the total project cost is $14,882.96. NYSEG will cover $6244.10 of the cost leaving
a balance of $8638.80 for the library to cover.
The estimated savings per year is $1033.90. A discussion followed about whether to do the
complete project now or do a little at a time.
The final consensus was to do have it all done at the same time.
As the $4000.00 that the
Library received from the Conable Foundation is not enough to do all the
painting that needs to be done in the Library it was suggested that we pull
funds from the Capital Reserves so that the project can be completed.
A motion was made by
Susannah Heubusch and seconded by David Almeter to pull from the Capital
Reserves, funds enough to cover the complete electrical project plus up
to $2000 to add to the grant money for painting.
Ayes: 5 Noes; 0 Motion carried
The Library has been
approached about becoming a part of a Solar Energy Project that would encompass
buildings owned by the Town plus the Library.
At present the board felt that there were too many questions that need
answers before a decision could be reached.
Next meeting Monday, June
8, 2015 at 7:00 pm.
Motion made to adjourn
Meeting adjourned at 8:30
pm.
